What is Life coaching....

From the time of birth our brains learn new things using some or all our senses. As we grow up, some habits/behaviours become part of our personality. These habits/behaviours are the result of role model(s), trauma(s), fear, happiness and other circumstances.

For example, you have seen/experienced children crying when the carer says ‘no’. The initial reasoning for them crying is because they only understand ‘Want’ but as they grow old, they learn that by crying, carer will give in. So this becomes a habit and if not monitored, it becomes behaviour.

From childhood to our adulthood, we not only learn new habits/behaviours but we also learn to manipulate ourselves and others. Among others, fear is our biggest enemy. We are all scared of one thing or another but how many of us ask ourselves ‘Why am I scared?’ As you ask yourself, you will find an immediate reply which will be logical and acceptable. Ask yourself the same question again but this time, allow yourself to be honest with yourself and your answer would be somewhat different in most cases.

In our adulthood, we are able to recognise habits and behaviours but some are easy to change or/and to get rid off while others not so easy. The general belief that ‘Old habits die hard’ is something I do not believe in personally or professionally. I believe that if we are able to learn a behaviour or develop a habit, we are also capable of changing them. When a person is ready to change, Life coaching comes to rescue.

Life coaching helps individuals or a group of people to reframe their thinking patterns, attitude, and behaviours and achieve success in their lives. This therapy is commonly used with CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to achieve the best results.

CBT is employed to help with 'Here and Now' issues. This therapy helps clients to understand their thinking pattern, perception of life, memories and experiences throughout their lives.
